Olympus was formed back in 2002 the 1st of may by Olympus_Hermes when he decided to introduce some of his good friends, Olympus_S1esta, Olympus_PPoc, Olympus_Star and Olympus_FoGGeR, to his idea of creating a new clan in the AoC community, the Olympus clan. PPoc and S1esta immediatly joined in with Hermes and few days after Star and FoGGeR also joined the ranks. Neither of the five people were very high rated at that time, but there was a strong friendship between them and that seemed to be more than enough because in the following months the Olympus clan grew into being one of the strongest AoC clan's in the world winning several gold medals in the RTS League and having alot of members competing in the top 10! When AoM came out in the end of 2002 Olympus was there too, playing with the same expertise as in AoC, just with alot new members again competing amoungst the currently best clans in the world and always expected as a RTSL finals favourite not only in AoC but now also in AoM. Unfortunately the Olympus never won gold to our AoM section. Nobody ever really liked the AoM expansion pack called Age of Titans, and when it came out in the fall 2003 ES almost managed to kill the whole AoM community because of some of the weird and frustrating gameplay features which were introduced in AoT. However hoping for the best, Olympus AoM department changed into playing AoT only (as there were most gamers online in AoT) yet again reaching top status within the best of the best. Time went and sadly the AoC section decided to close down leaving Olympus with only a AoT section and a bit of sadness because of the loss of some great forum topics and alot of AoT/AoC chit chat fun! At the start of 2005 the interrest for AoT was completely gone in both Olympus and the rest of AoM/AoT community and Olympus came into rather inactive time so when we lost our webplace and site without warning in summer 2005 it seemed to many that this was the end of Olympus. However the close friendship didn't end and an un-official forum was made for the remaining members to stay in contact with eachother and with AoE3 announced and a new webplace in hand, the comeback of the Olympus clan was decided! April 2006, AoE3 has been on the streets for almost a half year and Olympus is back! With a new site, new members, alot of new friendships and fully concentrating on AoE3, Olympus is yet again to be found between the best and favourite clans in the world. Constantly growing in members and skillwise it was in december 2005 decided to raise the joining requirements from 1850 to 1950 cuetech rating. Since then the requirements gone higher and higher and the most lately demanded rating to join Olympus is 2.1k, which is one of the highest in the whole AoE3 community! In the first season of RTSL AoE3 Olympus made it to the quarterfinals out of 80 competing clans, yet a bit dissapointing result to the AoE3 community because it was expected that Olympus would reach the semifinal/finals. Other info: The new ESO clan-tag system only allows five letters, so it was decided to use [Oly] abridgment online ESO but keep the full clan tag on various forums and sites.
